We partner with the Vashon Park District to support Vashon’s parks

Our Mission

TO:  Preserve, improve, and promote Vashon Park District’s projects, programs, services, facilities, and trails for the benefit of all existing and potential users

BY: 

  • Supporting and coordinating Vashon Parks special interest groups’ fund-raising efforts

  • Seeking and supporting other sources of revenue generation, including grant sources and contributions

  • Building partners with other community entities to support Vashon Parks

  • Strengthening community outreach and communication


SO THAT:  Vashon Park District remains a thriving part of our community, that its assets are accessible for all, and it serves the interests of a diverse community.

Our Guiding Principles

The following principles guide our work, behavior, and decisions.

Community driven: Our work and projects reflect and support the needs and interests of our community. We invest our time and energy where there is demonstrated enthusiasm and passion.

Partnership: Our primary partner is the Vashon Park District and its priorities. We collaborate with other island groups that support our mission and guiding principles.

Accessibility/Inclusion: We prioritize projects and activities that increase the accessibility of parks and reach diverse groups in our community.

Transparency/Accountability: We communicate openly about our work. We honestly convey information about our focus and sphere of responsibility.

Sustainability: We know that financial and natural resources are finite and should be managed responsibly. We support projects, programs, and initiatives that positively impact the environment and society and are financially responsible
